I am a native English speaker from Zimbabwe with a National Certificate (2 years) and National Diploma (3 years) in Applied Biology, 3+ years of A-Level teaching experience, and professional laboratory experience. Subject Expertise & Experience: 1. Qualifications: National Certificate in Applied Biology (2 years) and National Diploma in Applied Biology (3 years) from the Higher Education Examinations Council, Zimbabwe. This 5-year combined program included specialization in microbiology, biochemistry, and genetics 2. Teaching Experience: Taught A-Level Biology at Mtshabezi High School from 2017 to 2020. Delivered the full ZIMSEC/Cambridge syllabus in English medium to classes of 25-40 students, including lab practicals, exam preparation, and marking. 3. Laboratory Experience: - Laboratory Technician, National University of Science and Technology (NUST): Jan 2012 – Dec 2012 - Laboratory Technician, Bulawayo Provincial Veterinary Laboratory: Jan 2016 – Dec 2016 Conducted diagnostic tests, maintained biosafety protocols, prepared technical reports, and managed lab equipment. I can design safe, engaging practicals for M1-M6 students using limited resources. 4. English Proficiency: IELTS Band 6.5 Overall. English is Zimbabwe’s official language and the medium of instruction from Grade 1 onward. TEFL Certification: While I do not currently hold a TEFL certificate, my 3 years teaching A-Level Biology in English medium demonstrate proven classroom methodology. I have enrolled in an accredited 120hr TEFL course with Premier TEFL this week and will complete it within 30 days of hire. I am willing to complete TEFL certification during probation as a condition of employment. I understand TCT requires a Bachelor’s degree for a full license. My combined 5-year pathway in Applied Biology (2-Year Certificate + 3-Year Diploma) + 3 years documented teaching experience qualifies me for a provisional teaching permit waiver. I understand the school would apply for the waiver through TCT on my behalf, and I have all notarized documents ready to support this process. I am seeking a 12-month contract and can relocate to Thailand within 4-6 weeks. I am available for a Zoom interview and can perform a teaching demo on microbiology or enzyme activity.
