- They can talk to them, make silly faces, or say funny things â but NO touching.
- Ask vocabulary questions â "What colour is a banana?"
- If a lion answers, smiles, giggles, or moves â they are awake and must sit up.
- Last child still "sleeping" wins.

ðĄ Teacher Tips
âUse this game to calm the class down after a high energy activity.
âAsk vocabulary questions to lions â they must stay still even if they know the answer.
âSet a 2-minute time limit so the game does not go on too long.
âChildren love being the one who tries to wake the others â great for speaking practice.
ð Variations
âLions must wake up when they hear their assigned vocabulary word.
âPlay as sleeping animals â children choose which animal they are.
âThe waker must only use English to try to wake the lions.
