Rainbow Run

Colour cards spread around the room — children run to the colour called.

• Large coloured cards or paper (one per colour)

📋 How to Play

Place large coloured cards around the room — one in each corner and along the walls.
Walk children around touching each card and saying the colour together.
Children stand in the middle of the room.
Teacher calls a colour — "Run to RED!"
Children race to stand on or near the correct colour card.
Last child to arrive sits out for one round.
Continue calling colours — speed up to increase excitement.
For a gentler version play without elimination — everyone just runs together.

✓Use actual coloured paper or card — the brighter the better for young children.

✓Say the colour clearly and hold up the card at the same time for extra support.

✓This game is perfect for the very first lesson on colours.

✓Extend by asking children to find something in the classroom that matches the colour.
