- Teacher calls a colour â "Run to RED!"
- Children race to stand on or near the correct colour card.
- Last child to arrive sits out for one round.
- Continue calling colours â speed up to increase excitement.
- For a gentler version play without elimination â everyone just runs together.
ðĄ Teacher Tips
âUse actual coloured paper or card â the brighter the better for young children.
âSay the colour clearly and hold up the card at the same time for extra support.
âThis game is perfect for the very first lesson on colours.
âExtend by asking children to find something in the classroom that matches the colour.
ð Variations
âCall two colours at once â children must choose one and explain why.
âReplace colours with shapes, numbers or animals.
