📋 How to Play
- Place large coloured cards around the room — one in each corner and along the walls.
- Walk children around touching each card and saying the colour together.
- Children stand in the middle of the room.
- Teacher calls a colour — "Run to RED!"
- Children race to stand on or near the correct colour card.
- Last child to arrive sits out for one round.
- Continue calling colours — speed up to increase excitement.
- For a gentler version play without elimination — everyone just runs together.
💡 Teacher Tips
✓Use actual coloured paper or card — the brighter the better for young children.
✓Say the colour clearly and hold up the card at the same time for extra support.
✓This game is perfect for the very first lesson on colours.
✓Extend by asking children to find something in the classroom that matches the colour.
🔄 Variations
→Call two colours at once — children must choose one and explain why.
→Replace colours with shapes, numbers or animals.
→Children take turns being the caller.
