🛠 Materials

A soft ball or beanbag

📋 How to Play

  1. Children sit or stand in a circle.
  2. Teacher establishes a vocabulary category — for example: "Animals!"
  3. Teacher passes the ball to a child.
  4. That child must say an animal word in English and pass the ball to someone else.
  5. No word can be repeated — if a child repeats a word or cannot think of one, they sit down.
  6. Last child standing wins.
  7. For younger children, play without elimination — just practise together.

💡 Teacher Tips

Use a soft ball or beanbag — safer and quieter in the classroom.
Start with a category children know well to build confidence.
Model the activity first — teacher passes and says a word a few times.
Use a timer for older children — they must answer within 5 seconds.

🔄 Variations

Each child says the NEXT word in a sequence — days of the week, numbers, alphabet.
Child must say the word AND spell it.
Play in teams — most correct answers wins.
