Teacher pulls mystery items from a bag one by one — children guess and repeat.

⏱ 10-15 min⚡ Low energyðŸ‘Ĩ Whole class

📚 Vocabulary

â€Ē any lesson vocabulary
â€Ē classroom objects
â€Ē animals
â€Ē food
â€Ē colours

🛠 Materials

â€Ē A cloth bag or pillowcase
â€Ē 5-8 small objects or flashcards

📋 How to Play

  1. Fill a bag with small objects or flashcards related to the lesson vocabulary.
  2. Tell children it is a magic bag — nobody knows what is inside!
  3. Slowly reach in and pull out one item dramatically.
  4. Hold it up and ask "What is it?"
  5. Children shout the answer — confirm and repeat together.
  6. Place the item to one side and continue with the next.
  7. After all items are revealed, put them back and let a child pull one out.
  8. Child must say the word before showing it to the class.

ðŸ’Ą Teacher Tips

✓Be dramatic when pulling items out — build suspense to keep children engaged.
✓Use real objects where possible — they are more exciting than flashcards for this age.
✓This works brilliantly as a warm up to introduce new vocabulary.
✓Let every child have a turn reaching into the bag.

🔄 Variations

→Feel and guess — children put their hand in without looking and guess by touch.
→Wrong answer bag — teacher pretends to say wrong names and children correct them.
→Categories — only put in items from one category and children must name the category.
