Children are assigned a fruit word. When it is called they swap seats.

ð How to Play
- Arrange chairs in a circle â one fewer chair than students.
- Assign each child a fruit name by giving them a flashcard â apple, banana, mango, or orange.
- One child stands in the middle â they are "it".
- The child in the middle calls a fruit â "BANANA!"
- All children assigned banana must jump up and swap seats.
- The child in the middle races to steal a seat too.
- Whoever is left standing is the new caller.
- When the caller shouts "FRUIT SALAD!" â everyone must swap seats!
ðĄ Teacher Tips
âKeep chairs close together so children do not run too fast â safety first.
âPre-teach all fruit vocabulary before playing.
âUse 3-4 fruits maximum for Under 5s â too many categories is confusing.
âThis game works with ANY vocabulary category â animals, colours, numbers.
ð Variations
âUse animals instead of fruits â "LION!" all lions swap seats.
âUse colours â assign children a colour flashcard.
âPlay without elimination for younger or less confident children.
