📋 How to Play

Divide the class into two teams facing each other.
Teacher starts with a word — "OCEAN"
Team A must say a word connected to OCEAN — "Fish!"
Team B must say a word connected to FISH — "Scales!"
Team A must connect to SCALES — "Music!" (musical scales)
Continue volleying — each word must connect to the previous one.
A team loses the point if they cannot connect or hesitate too long.
The connection must be explainable — teams can challenge and the player must justify.

✓Accept any reasonable connection — this encourages creative thinking.

✓Require students to explain their connection — "Scales because fish have scales."

✓This game builds vocabulary networks which aid long term retention.

✓Write the chain on the board so the class can see how far it goes.

→Restrict to lesson vocabulary only — all words must come from the current topic.

→Play individually — whole class in a chain with no teams.

→Write the connections — students write their word and reason before saying it aloud.
