📋 How to Play

  1. Spread 8-10 flashcards face up on a desk at the front of the room.
  2. Divide the class into two teams.
  3. One player from each team comes to the front holding a rolled newspaper.
  4. Teacher calls a word or gives a definition — "An animal that lives in the sea and has eight legs!"
  5. Both players race to slap the correct flashcard with their newspaper.
  6. First to slap the correct card wins a point for their team.
  7. Players return to their teams and next players come up.
  8. Team with the most points wins.

💡 Teacher Tips

Use definitions instead of just the word for extra challenge.
This is one of the highest energy games available — perfect for low motivation days.
Make sure players are standing side by side not in front of each other for safety.
Children who are waiting can write down the answers to stay engaged.

🔄 Variations

Use flyswatters instead of newspapers for a cleaner version.
Put cards on the board instead of a desk for a more dramatic slap.
Play in groups of 3 — three players race at the same time.
