📋 How to Play
- One student sits or stands facing the class with their back to the board.
- Teacher writes a vocabulary word on the board behind them.
- Class must describe, explain, or give examples of the word in English.
- They CANNOT say the word itself, spell it, or translate it.
- The student at the front guesses the word.
- If correct within the time limit, their team earns a point.
- Swap to a new student after each word.
- Set a time limit of 45-60 seconds per word.
💡 Teacher Tips
✓Pre-teach describing phrases — "It is a type of...", "You use it to...", "It means..."
✓Play in teams of 4-5 to keep everyone engaged.
✓Award bonus points for guessing in under 15 seconds.
✓Use this as a vocabulary review game at the end of a unit.
🔄 Variations
→Use sentences with a gap — class acts out or describes the missing word.
→The student at the front asks YES/NO questions to narrow down the answer.
→Play in pairs across the table — quieter version for smaller classes.
