📋 How to Play

  1. Set up a snakes and ladders board — standard rules apply.
  2. Prepare a set of vocabulary question cards face down in a pile.
  3. On each turn, player rolls the dice and moves their counter.
  4. When they land on a square, they must draw a question card and answer it correctly.
  5. If correct, they stay on that square.
  6. If incorrect, they move back to where they started that turn.
  7. Snakes and ladders work as normal.
  8. First player to reach the final square wins.

💡 Teacher Tips

Make question cards appropriate to the lesson — pictures to name, words to define, sentences to complete.
Have a simple and hard pile — children choose which difficulty they want.
Print and laminate the board for repeated use.
This works well as a free activity or early finisher task.

🔄 Variations

Play without questions — just roll and say the vocabulary word for the number shown.
Make a themed board matching the lesson topic.
Play as teams — teammates help each other answer.
