⏱ 10-15 min⚡ Medium energyðŸ‘Ĩ Whole class

📚 Vocabulary

â€Ē any lesson vocabulary
â€Ē spelling
â€Ē questions and answers

🛠 Materials

â€Ē A soft ball or object as the "bomb"
â€Ē Timer (phone works best)

📋 How to Play

  1. Children sit in a circle.
  2. One child holds the "bomb" — a soft ball or object.
  3. Start a hidden timer — set it for a random time between 10-30 seconds.
  4. Children pass the bomb around the circle as fast as possible.
  5. When the timer goes off, whoever is holding the bomb must answer a question.
  6. Teacher asks a vocabulary question — "What is this?" or "Spell HAPPY."
  7. If they answer correctly, they stay in. If not, they sit out for one round.
  8. Keep playing — last child standing wins.

ðŸ’Ą Teacher Tips

✓Hide the timer so children cannot see how much time is left — this creates genuine excitement.
✓Adjust question difficulty to the individual child if possible.
✓Use a phone with a random timer app for best effect.
✓Keep eliminated children engaged by letting them help ask questions.

🔄 Variations

→The child holding the bomb must say a word from a category before passing.
→Play in teams — team members can help answer.
→Use multiple bombs at once for a more chaotic and fun version.
